Positive Development Ribbon Cutting in Plantation, Florida!
On July 15, 2022, I had the opportunity to experience a long-term dream come true, and gosh- it was magical! Ever since I learned about developmental approaches to intervention and education back in 2008, I knew this was the ‘IT’ I was professionally looking for. With an emphasis on meaningful interactions, building relationships, meeting a child where they are, tailoring interactions to a child’s individual profile, and following a child’s interests- this approach made sense to me. This is the way we all learn and develop, including those on the spectrum!
For the past 14 years, I have dedicated my career to supporting and spreading developmental approaches to autism intervention. However, to really make this an intervention option for families, our field has needed an organization with the resources and dedication to create a space, to communicate with insurance companies, and to unite the developmental community. I’m beyond thrilled to be part of the team at Positive Development - the organization that has done all the above, finally making developmental approaches to intervention an option for families in our local community and beyond!
On Friday, we welcomed the community into our new clinic space and watched in awe as the incredible Dr. Michael Alessandri cut the ribbon with clinical director, Dr. Lina Moyano, officially welcoming developmental, relationship-based intervention options to families in South Florida!
To see children, families, and our incredible team come together to connect and have FUN in our space was more powerful than I could possibly put into words. On top of that, to have friends, family, and supporters who have been on this journey with me along the way-- present to celebrate the day in person was an example of #purejoyinprogress! My heart is exploding with joy and gratitude to everyone who came out to celebrate, and to everyone who has supported this journey along the way! This day and this dream have meant the world to me and I can’t thank everyone enough for the support and love along the way:)
